Holiday Inn Express Siesta Key is the Host Hotel for the Sharks Classic

If you need a place to stay while in town for the Sharks Classic, check out the host hotel, Holiday Inn Express Siesta Key. It is conveniently located about one mile from the race site. Call 941-924-4900 and tell them you're with the Sarasota Sharks Classic Triathlon to receive a $90 per night rate (while supplies last).

Course Details

Tri 1.5K SWIM Course (0.9 miles)
Start at water's edge just north of yellow lifeguard tower
Swim straight out then make (90') right turn around first buoy (keep buoy on your right)
Swim north to last buoy and make (90') left turn (keeping buoy on your left)
Swim west about 25 yards and make (90') left turn (keeping buoy on your left)
Swim south to last buoy and make (90') left turn (keeping buoy on your left)
Swim east to the shore just south of the yellow lifeguard tower then run east to Transition Area.

Du 5K Run Course (3.1 miles)
Start at water's edge just South of Swim Exit
Run south along beach for 1.5 miles (U-Turn just before wall)
Return north along beach for 1.5 miles
Turn Right (east) to enter path to transition.
NOTE: Dual Aid Station @ 1.3miles and after Turnaround @ 1.66miles

Tri & Du 40K Bike Course 24.8 miles (12.4 mile loop)
(not a closed course)
After mounting bike turn Right (south) on Beach Rd (becomes Midnight Pass Rd)
Continue south past Stickney Pt Rd (1.5mile) and Turtle Beach (4.1mile) to TURNAROUND at 4.35 mile mark.
Bike north on MPR (7 mile mark is at Sun & Sea Dr just before Stickney Pt Rd.
At 8.4 miles stay right to Continue on MPR...over bridge at 9.8miles
Then a left-right-left (left on Mangrove Pt Rd, right on Higel, left on Ocean Blvd)
Continue on Ocean Blvd through Siesta Key Village then left turn onto Beach Rd back toward transition
Continue south on Beach Rd past transition to begin lap 2
Repeat same loop...and turn right into transition to complete bike course.

Tri & Du 10K Run Course (6.2 miles)
Sandy Loop: Out of transition turn RIGHT thru aid station for short counterclockwise loop and back thru aid station.
Lost: Just past Aid Station...into the woods! Trail will spit you out on Midnight Pass Road @ 0.69 miles
MPR Straight: (1.32 miles) south to Old Stickney Pt Rd Aid Station @ 2.0 miles
MPR South Loop:(2.5 miles) Continue straight (south) on Midnight Pass Road for 1.25 miles to Aid Station TURNAROUND
then back 1.25 miles to Old Stickney Pt Rd Aid Station.
Final Stretch: (1.7 miles) Turn LEFT (west) at Old Stickney Pt Aid Station toward Gulf and then turn RIGHT (north) to continue up beach
Just past Yellow Lifeguard Stand turn Right through the soft sand...across deck bridge...sharp right to FINISH LINE!
